Sustainability
Why It is Important
Once you accept human diversity as a motor for positive change, you must concede species diversity as well. An artist is responsible to take up such topics. I do not like the idea of sustainability only as a means to human ends. A forest is worth protecting by its own merits.
You Might Look into the Following
Still, there is a lot of wood-chopping and grass-mowing in the fields of northern Germany, where I take my regular walks.
I look into having topics sich as deforestation or agrochemicals, exploitation of areas through mines, toxic emissions, landfills and animal experiments in my work.
My Carbon Footprint
According to carbonfootprint.com: 3.05 t per year, mostly through heating and electricity. I encourage you to make the test as well, it takes only a few minutes.
What I Do About It
- Positive attitude towards nature
- More than 15 years of vegetarian diet
- I donate to the NABU (a wildlife fund), to fund new wildlife reserves
- Six days per week are "Buy Nothing Day"
- Using only my bicycle
- Mending is better than spending: I can sew on buttons etc.
- I am using Ecosia for web searches, a search engine that plants trees.
- Buying from sustainable food brands.
- Buying vegetables from local markets and eating apples from a tree in my backyard
- Buying used electronics
What I Don't Do Yet
- Zero Waste in my studio
- Working with recycled materials
- Buy carbon certificates
- Use solar power
- Use eco topics in my work without resorting to clichés

Trading
On my website you can find artworks in several types of media. Right now, selling them is not my main objective. Should you still be interested in acquiring any of them in any form, you may inquire by e-mail or letter, stating the name or number of the respective work.
I reserve the right to not sell a particular work for any number of reasons. Should an agreement be reached, I will send you an acknowledgment of order via e-Mail or post, including the respective invoices. By request, I will sign and number your graphic. You will receive a certificate of authenticity.
Pricing
Concerning payment, I prefer bank transfer as of now. I am looking into online payment methods in the future. I will ship your artwork as soon as I have received the agreed-upon price.
This will conclude the contract. If delivery is impossible for any reason or you refrain from payment in the span of fourteen days after the agreement, the agreement will be voided and I will notify you about it.
All prices include statutory VAT. You additionally have to pay for the shipping-costs. For orders outside the EU, this may include customs, taxes and related fees. I calculate the shipping costs individually per order and notify you before the agreement is finalized.
Delivery
Since all printed materials are print-on-demand, I depend on the time table of the print shops involved. I will notify you about the exact delivery period. Estimate more than seven days after payment.
This is my print shop of choice at the moment: medienhaven.fine-art, Medienhaven GmbH, Vor dem Steintor 34 im Atrium, D-28203 Bremen, www.medienhaven.de. Should I have to choose another print shop for any reason, the quality of the prints will be the same (Innova Smooth Cotton High White 315g/qm, Art.-Nr. 04030901) and I will notify you.
If the goods cannot be delivered, your purchase price will be refunded. If the goods arrive damaged, contact me.
